The story revolves around the Sunflower Society, a middle-class housing society in Mumbai. One morning, a resident named Mr. Kapoor is found murdered in his flat. The police, led by Inspector Digendra (Ranvir Shorey) and Sub-Inspector Tambe (Girish Kulkarni), begin investigating the crime. What makes the story engaging is the presence of Sonu Singh (played by Sunil Grover) — a simple, funny, and slightly odd man who becomes the center of suspicion due to his strange behavior and unusual personality.
